FRIDAY: of gay men and chicken rice...

Tiff came to meet me at Medical School. For some strange reason, everyone was gathered around and the foyer was filled with happy conversations and cheerful laughter. It probably was because the weekend is here! Tiffy felt that Med school was a damn happening place. Haa, she should visit us at other times of the day to find out the scary truth. hee. Yeah tiff is so funny and like she gets along so well with my friends over here. social butterfly she is.

We got all excited and skipped down to the market and went grocery shopping and we bought the best tasting yoghurt ever in the world, in my opinion at least. ;D Tiffy took lots of silly pics of me trying to be domesticated [ choosing apples and vegies, cutting and chopping food, washing dishes ] We thought about creating a website and putting all those pics up so that I could find a potential man. I can imagine the title "Daphne - a well trained housewife. Come choose her!" LOL.

Friday night dinners are always good. We had chicken rice! and veggy curry. and very nice white wine from two hands that can easily be mistaken for apple juice. lol dinner was a quick affair coz we had to proceed with having chocolate fondue! with fruits for our tummy and queer as folk for our eyes to feast on for dessert.

and fidel called us!!!! :D it was so nice hearing his voice. yeay. fidel you made my day.

QAF was really good. sublte and dry humour but nonetheless entertaining. I never felt that TV could ever be too much but after watching queer till 2am.. my heavy eyelids gave up and i feel asleep at the last eipsode. haa, tiffy was sleeping tooo!

Victor drove sleepy headed tiffy and daffy home after the long long night of gays.

Since Miss Chuyun does not blog anymore.. I shall announce to the blog world that she is going off to Uni of Berkeley for exchange next semester!! I am so happy for her. everyone should go on exchange!! Maybe I could go over to US for a holiday eh? *thinks hard* Since I have another friend in Boston right now. But I think berkeley and boston is quite far away from each other. AH! who cares? we shall see. lol

Haha, tiff came over my place today and it was so funny coz we spent quite a while making a surprise thing for a special someone! It was hilarious and we were just laughing our toes off. Lol. I'm so thankful tiff is in my life in adelaide man. haa :D

Tomorrow is our gay drama night. I am SO looking forward to it! yippee!!

Alright report has 800 words. another 1000 to go.

the rooms today were shit and crappy. they are probably the worst i've ever seen! ahh. but at least a nice girl came by today to check out my place. and she is interested to be my housemate. problem is i have not met her yet. Hopefully soon.. sometime during the weekend or something.

Omg, I cannot believe what my housemates told her! They told her that I am not a square peg (true), fun-loving (true), silly and forgetful (true too) and loud ( NOT TRUE!)... sigh. But from what my housemates tell me she sounds really nice. Studying and Working at the same time. Plays the cello, has a dog, etc etc.

so i guess i might not have to move out after all. hmmm.

Had mee goreng for dinner! courtesy of Victor's gf. Oh man... and my back and shoulderache is killing me. I feel like an old lady with rheumatism. sigh.

Going off to view some rooms today. I really hope I can find something good soon. It's weird how such things can get stressful. I really prefer a plain and unchanging environment but I guess I have to learn to cope and adapt to variability in my life.

Anyway friday night is queer time! haa. but before friday comes I have to hand up my report, which I have yet to start on. Shucks.

and FYI fidel! My laptop plays both pirated and original stuff. It's probably allergic to gay contents or something. lol

Haa my new term resolution to study hard has obviously failed me. I went over to Tiffany's place for a sleepover. We were supposed to catch Queer as Folks! However, all our laptops could not play the DVDs!! In the end, we had to rip the DVD onto a friend's laptop before we could watch it. Poor guy, now he has like gay porn on his laptop. lol

Anyway one episode of queer as folks has got me hooked onto it! Damn. I forsee more ripping and more watching till we find a permanent solution to this problem. Hmm.

I am so missing the sun. It's raining here. I think I'm falling sick and my right eye is sore and red. sob.

back home in adelaide. House looks different. Many boxes around. Some stuff are taken off the shelf. Empty spaces. plus my housemate's tummy is getting rounder and bigger! whee.

Kinda happy and sad. happy that they are going off to raise a family, which I'm sure its going to be a happy one. Sad coz I will be all alone! SOB. Maybe I can put myself up for adoption or something.

Had dinner with Tiffany, Hans and Gabriel. Chinese Food made me slightly happier. We went over to Han's place to take a look and also hopped over to Gabriel's place to check out the award winning mouldiest fridge of the year. Moulds grew in the freezer compartment! haa. Quite a mess for poor gabriel to clean up on his own. heh. ;D

Have to meet tiffy at 8.30am tomorrow morning. OH MAN. exam papers. classes and having a terrible tutorial group. Save me!!

Harry's! This pub at Holland Village. A place where this weird couple plays old music and the table next to us were singing along. As usual, we were the youngest group of people around the place. Why? Because wala wala was too crowded and if we got in, we would be standing and being jostled around by everyone else. But still! we should go to wala wala next time around! Coz I haven't been there. Bleah.

Haha, the "I have ever.." game should go down in history as the game that Hong and Isaac lost. Amongst other it-shall-not-be-named things that we did before, it was a hilarious session. Forfeit was not too bad you know, just an innocent blend of sugar-rimmed magaritas, watered-down heneiken and other odds and ends like Men's pocky[ fidel you need some of these. it increases your man factor by a power of a gazillion *says daph in a low voice coz she ate too many of them last night]. Apparently it tasted good! omg. dang. why didn't i lose *daph scolds herself*

Sorry guys the next time I'm back I will organise something at my house. Mahjong, drinks and lots of fun ok? This break was just too short. My apologies. And hopefully in december, SOMEONE will come back to singapore from UK, huh??

Alrighty. I got to pack my laptop into my bag. Sob. Adios..... and I have to collect my exam paper on monday morning!!... and I got class at 10am. TMD... save me good lord.

Yay! I just collected my new spectacles! Guess what colour it is?

No prizes though. It's.. GREEN!

Haha. I think I am really getting into the green fad.

----------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I was at Ang Mo Kio Central. For those who don't know, that's where you board 138 to go to the famous zoological gardens. Hence you can always spot the tourists, all clad in their halter tops, mini skirts and shades. Most of them are drinking coke. They are always fanning themselves with some vague map of Singapore. They always look at the locals with this weird look in their eyes. I mean, if I was a tourist, I would probably do the same too!

Growing up in Ang Mo Kio, I never thought that the poor ol' auntie standing next to me at the bus stop was uncool. I just thought that she was you know, dressing right for her age. But after travelling the entire globe ( well not yet) I realised that the 'aunties' in other countries do pay attention to their dressing and they put in that extra effort to look good! They look fabulous and at the same time, matured and dignified. Something like a glass of good red wine.

Anyway my new specs are making me see things in 20 dimensions. ;/

I tried to sell the NDP event in adelaide to my junior and he was rather interested, but skeptical at the same time.

"Oh, it sounds fun"

A while later, " But will people come, you sure it's good?"

But then again, that's like most singaporeans aint it. DAMN. You feel like doing something but at the same time you feel that you don't want to do it. granny granny mother mother. [po po ma ma]

Why? Is it because we have been brought up to be hesistant people? Is it because we have been living too long in this environment that does not promote changes - hence even when the heart is willing, the mind says NO?

We need more UP people! isaac will tell you. coz' he is like damn UP! lol

I stick by my rule that when a mother is furious, she scolds EVERYONE in the household. Regardless if you are involved in pushing the wrong buttons that made her enter the ANGRY mode.

It's so unfair! *pouts*

Anyway, I must thank wong! for helping me out. so sweet! *hugs wong tightly*

Ok enough mushy stuff. I must insist that I still can behave normal when required. and I think I should learn photoshop! But first, find someone with it so that I can borrow it or something.

Going back to adelaide makes me sad. Sad. sAd. saD.

On panic attacks and saying hello..

Well I guess it's true when someone (esp an ang moh) who is nearly a complete stranger - ie: someone you see around uni, someone u see at the supermarket, comes up to you and say "how are u?"

I find it really disturbing and difficult to reply. I mean, I am sure that they are nice and lovely people deep down inside, just that I have not discovered it and I am not comfortable telling them my own stuff. It will be really weird if I answered, "Yea actually I am feeling a little men hungry right now, so would you mind talking to me?"

So, all I will do is say, "I'm good" with a genuine smile on my face. It always works, because when people see you smile, they know you should be fine.

On a side note, I think I nearly had a panic attack this morning.

I woke up to the realisation that my mum was not at home.

*strange*, coz she told me last night she is on leave.

*daphne runs to check the car porch* - CAR IS GONE!

so now, mum and car is gone.

daphne called mum many times on hp. NO ANSWER.

daphne freaks out. OH NO.

o.o

i waited till my mummy come home before i could wash up. I felt like a little kid when I realised all she did was to bring the car for servicing.

Now i think i am really eccentric.

ok. I did some changes to the layout. Thanks ian! sorry for the corny links. I couldn't help it. Anyway it was a ok day. Settled some singapore association stuff. Things seem to be on track. Yay.

I think I caught a cold from walking in the rain. No, erase all romantic images of me playing in the rain with a guy. No such thing. Poor daphne was caught in the rain without an umbrella. Had to walk the cold and torturous walk (i'm exaggerating) up the long tedious slope to my granny's house. oh man.

Wanted to take panadol for the fever. But i realised that the panadol at home is expired. Oct2004. Pointless to take expired drugs right? sigh. I guess I should just let my body fight it off for me. Right, daphne? ;D

Ok. Please leave some comments.. then my blog will look more complete. Thanks!

Alright. The switch. Decided that it would be more interesting with a tagboard and more pics. Except that right now, I have NO idea how the html shit works. okok.. Anyway, picture from last night! I thought the girls looked really good in this picture. ;D

It has been a lazy day. Woke up - ate lunch - read book - read newspapers - fell asleep - online. HOW GOOD IS THAT? I miss slacking. The past week had been crazy. Going out. Meeting old friends. Spending money. Running around. Anyway tiff is now safely in adelaide, complaining how cold the place is. Haha. good luck tiffy. hang in there till I come! Shit I make myself sound like the human torch. oh oh...

So err people, you can change your url link for my blog to this one k. thanks!

*daphne runs off to eat fried mee*
